Our Tree House

So, a couple weeks ago I was enjoying how awesome springtime was. I took TONS of pictures of all the awesome blossoms around Munhall. This is our tree in the front yard...

Maybe I should say, this WAS the front tree in our yard.

There was a freak storm that came into the area on Friday. I heard a big crash. I opened my front door and this is what I saw.

Poor, poor tree.

How depressing huh? Everyone was so concerned about our safety. The fire department even came to our house to check for structural damage! (there wasn't any) But I just couldn't stop thinking about the tree loosing its life! So much for 'going green' or 'earth day'. The house is fine. We are fine. The tree, not so much. The landlord had it removed. We now have a huge bare spot. Its so depressing. That tree was probably over a hundred years old. Alright. I am done rambling. Maybe I can put some tacky lawn ornament up in its place.

The never ending post

okay, these aren't the greatest pictures of either of my kids...but I was trying to compare the coloring. They are both so dark! This is Peter at 3 weeks and Brooke at 2 weeks! So if there is a pattern Brooke will be super white by 6 months!

I love how small newborns are! The first time they are in their car seats they just look like little dolls!

Our Easter 2010

This is the first time Peter has been old enough to understand something about Easter. We went to our friends, the Teerlinks, for an Easter egg hunt. I thought Peter was sooo excited about it.

I was so wrong. He found 1 egg, opened it, ate a jelly bean, and closed the egg and put it back where he found it.

He then went promptly to the toys. All the other kids found tons of eggs. Peter went home with one. (Which I didn't really mind because I would have eaten most of the candy anyway.)
Later all the older kids got creative and started hauling the tricycles up the hill and riding down on them. Peter thought it was a good idea and suckered Amber into helping him down the hill in the red wagon with a string on the end.

Then Bryan and Jason decided it was their turn. Because, obviously, plastic tricycles are meant to handle the weight of 200+ lb. guys. Bryan won the race. (probably because he does weigh a tad more than Jason)

Brooke just hung out in my favorite thing, the Moby wrap. Its awesome. I can have my hands free and she just sleeps!

This is before the weather warmed up. Peter is loving being outside. Just give the kid a stick and he is happy. Or 2 sticks.

I was very surprised when I went outside last week and saw flowers in my front yard!
I love that spring is here!

My mom was out here for 10 days or so when Brooke was born. She was soooo amazing! She took care of Peter while I was in the hospital. She made some fabulous meals. (Lasagna, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal cookies...okay, so not all meals, but really good stuff) She really was great. I got to sleep and she played with the kids and changed a TON of stinky diapers. Thanks mom! You are the best! I love you.

If you're happy and you know it...

In case you couldn't guess, Peter did not get his fish crackers. Just no lunch. And a nap.
