Another week gone!

Peter likes to eat grapes off of the 'grape tree'.
He also calls the my ergo baby carrier 'the wrapper'.
example: "Mom, are you putting Heath in your wrapper?"

Brooke dressed her self today before I was even out of bed.  What was the attire of choice?  A necklace.  And a sheer pink dress up skirt from Halloween that fit her when she was about 6 months old.  To top it off, she omitted the underwear.  When I asked her to go finish getting dressed she just took off the skirt and said, "All done!"  (She was still wearing the necklace....)

Heath has figured out how to roll over!  He has pretty much mastered rolling from back to front as of last night.  He woke himself up about 4 times when he rolled over and couldn't figure out what he was supposed to do next.
He can also sit up while using his hands to prop him up.

Bryan is in summer school. (yet again.)  I love how they never give these guys a break!  But we are in the home stretch.  He may be doing an internship in August in Carolina.  I am excited for him to be so close to finishing!  Its his last summer to be in school!  He is seeing patients daily and may or may not be counting down the days until graduation...

To keep himself busy (as if he isn't busy enough...) he has been riding his bike to school every day.  I am so impressed by this!  He gets up before the crack of dawn to bike in early, so then he can work out with a friend school before clinic starts.  (I have to say he looks pretty good too...)

And then there is me. I am just running after kids non stop.  Sometimes my day feels SO monotonous.  But most of the time I really enjoy staying at home.  (98% of the time).  I am also training for a 1/2 Marathon.  I have 3 more weeks until race day!  I am pretty excited.  This will be the 2nd one for me and I am happy to say that so far (knock on wood) my body is still doing good and I am injury free!  And I am 3lbs away from pre-pregnancy weight.  Ah!  It feels so good to be back in shape!

TGIF!

There have been quite a few pesky fly's buzzing around our house lately.  Yesterday Peter told me there was a 'shoo fly' in the bathroom.

Brooke has worn that pink tutu for the past 5 days in a row.  It doesn't matter what I pick out, she just wants the 'pink tutu'.

Heath just got his first tooth in!  Hello tooth letter 'p'!  Letter 'o' is on the way and will be here soon, judging by the 3 hours of random screaming last night in his crib. (totally uncharacteristic of him)  I hope it pops through soon so I can get some sleep.

oh ya...who just got a new camera lens?!  Happy Dance!  (picture me jumping randomly around my living room with my camera in hand...)
I probably shouldn't mention the fact it took me almost an hour to figure out how to get it to attached properly and focusing in anything other than 'auto'!

Happy dance...boo ya! (still bouncing around my living room with the camera, now hanging around my neck)

I bet ya'll can't wait for insane awesomeness that is going to come from it.
(okay, you probably are going to be waiting about 15 years, but humor me and pretend like its going to be in about 14 hours or something)

Photography

I know I am slightly biased, but I have some pretty cute subjects to practice on! (They are not always willing...I have to bribe them with TV shows and outings to the park to get them to even LOOK at my camera!) Any photographers out there please feel free to comment any advice... I can use all the help I can get!
I am trying to  make up for my embarrasing last post...

What's shakin' bacon?

Heath has learned how to reach for objects and grab them.  This is his new favorite toy.

Brooke and I have been working on the basics...

And Peter has been loving summer!
Meanwhile, Heath has also been drooling. A lot.

The One Day Method

Brooke has been telling me "NO Diaper!" for about a 2 months now.  And taking it off on her own.  (Which was scary because she didn't care if it was empty or full, it you know what I mean...)
After agonizing about how much potty training sucks, I broke down and decided to give it a try.  I didn't think it was going to be successful either.  I read tons of stuff before I potty trained Peter and he did good, but I waited until he was almost 3. And he didn't get to where I trusted him by himself or out of the house for a couple weeks.
Brooke has been amazing.  It took about 12 hours to potty train her.  And I know we are only 5 days into this, but she was sleeping through naps without a diaper on the first day, and now she can do nights too!  She sat through me jogging, gone grocery shopping, and had a playground adventure with no accidents on day 2!  I am amazed.

There is nothing this girl can't do when she puts her mind to it.  The only problem is that it is going have to be HER idea.  I am terrified.

This is part of our "Potty Camp".  We invented a "Potty Dance" complete with a song for every time she went in the toilet.  We also made a super special treat where they got to lick the bowl.  And if you hadn't noticed, Brooke got to go 'pants free' the entire day.  She also got mini- Princess figures for going #2.  (I had to think of a million activities to keep us on the tile flooring where messes would be easier to clean! Little did I know that we wouldn't HAVE any messes!)
 Go Brookie!

"Peter-and-Brooke-isms"

Peter recently got a $10.00 bill in a birthday card.  It has been stuck to the refrigerator on a magnet for about a month now.  He finally told me what he wanted to spend it on.
"Mom, I want to buy some bananas with my money."
"Uh, okay, if that is what you want.  Are you sure you don't want a toy?  I think you will have some money left over after you buy bananas."
"Oh, well, then I will buy some ice too!  For daddy."

At least I know what is his top priority.  Food.  And ice.  He is his father's son.

Brooke LOVES looking at pictures of Jesus.  We look at them almost every night at bedtime.  This morning she woke up and wanted to see pictures of Jesus.  So I got online to the Church website and turned on a couple Bible Videos.  Then she saw a picture of the temple and says  "Look Mommy!  A Jesus Castle!"

I think I will have a smile on my face for the rest of the day from that one.

Sibling Rivalry

"Hi! My name is Brooke... I have a brother who I LOVE to torment."
 "Watch this...!"
 Yup.

Run Brooke Run!

Yes.  I am awesome.
